A journey through history on wheels.

The Vintage Bus Tour is a unique way to explore Malta’s historic Three Cities. This 2 hour guided experience takes you back in time, travelling in a restored 1920s bus full of character.

Step on board and enjoy a completely different Malta tour. The wooden interior and classic design create an authentic atmosphere. It feels like travelling through history, not just visiting it.

Through the Three Cities

The tour starts in Cospicua, also known as Bormla, surrounded by strong fortification walls built by the Knights of Malta to defend the island. The scale of these walls shows how important this area once was. From there you continue to Vittoriosa, also called Birgu, the first home of the Knights, which played a major role before Valletta was built. You pass the beautiful waterfront with its historic buildings and traditional boats, still reflecting Malta’s maritime past. Next the tour moves to Senglea, a small peninsula with stunning views over the Grand Harbour and a unique angle on Valletta. At the tip stands Il-Gardjola Watchtower, a landmark that symbolises Malta’s strength and history.

Stories along the way

During the tour, your driver provides live commentary. You learn about the Great Siege of 1565 and the Siege of 1942, and how Malta defended itself through time. These stories bring the locations to life. The vintage bus itself is part of the attraction, originally built in 1921 by the Cottonera Motor Bus Company.
